Offshore wind energy: Engine of the energy transition
Department of Marine Technology, NTNU, 7491 Trondheim
Offshore wind energy has enormous potential and has rapidly become one of the main contributions of renewable energy. To support the global energy transition target with the offshore wind, cost-effective offshore wind turbines are needed. Let's see how offshore wind technology works and discuss the challenges for the floating wind turbines.

Silicon for solar cells
NTNU, Department of Materials Science and Engineering
Power production by solar cell is necessary and currently more than 95% of the solar cells are made of Silicon. Production of Solar cells requires a special grade of Si with the purity of 99.9999%. This Si is called Solar Grade Silicon and requires special techniques to purify Si and wipe out the impurities from it. This presentation will explain the story behind the Si production for solar cells.
