From mice to men: Understanding Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease is a debilitating disorder which causes certain and irreversible loss of brain function and death. Despite its description over 100 years ago, there are still no treatments which can reverse, stop or even slow the loss of brain tissue. Why not? Can new insight into the areas of the brain that are lost early in the disease help understand it better?
