In music, technology serves not only as a disrupting force, but also a tool used in purposefully disruptive ways. Zack will discuss both sides of the disruptive cycle–how technology has disrupted performance, recording and business in music, and how artists use technology disruptively, forcing new ideas and challenging perspectives on music, business, identity, and the impact of their art.

Key computational problems at the heart of pressing societal challenges are unsustainably costly on classical computers. The concept of a quantum computer has been devised to tackle this challenge, giving access to otherwise intractable problems, such as global optimization. In this talk, we will explore what a quantum computer is made of and how quantum advantage may eventually help us to surpass the performance of classical computers.
